About L&A Automotive
Luke Klotz is the President of L&A Automotive Inc.
Luke has been in the automotive repair business since 1983 starting as a mechanic; learning and training in this field until opening his own shop in January of 1998. The name of the business at that time was Page and Elm Automotive a DBA of L&A Automotive Inc. It was a 6 bay complete automotive repair center.
Luke started the business from the ground up with no partners; he employed two mechanics and one oil change technician. The company grew out of the building on Page and Elm in July 2000. At that point the business was moved to the larger location on Cooper and Pearl. This building was the old Oldsmobile dealership and was able to accommodate the growing business.
L&A Automotive currently employs four mechanics and one oil change technician. There are thirteen bays. All automotive repair work is performed at this location from minor to major...oil changes, tire rotation, new tire purchase and balance, air conditioning repair, brakes, shocks, front end suspension, engines, transmissions and electrical/computer issues. L&A has the capability to diagnose and repair all your vehicle needs, Foreign and Domestic.
Interim transportation (i.e. to and from work while car is in shop) is available as well as towing arrangements. L&A also holds considerable high profile commercial accounts including: Michigan State Police, Fed Ex, Michigan State Prison, American One, Comcast, Silver Foam Dist, Anderson Dist, Dawn Food Products, Zimmer Marble, Comtronics, Applegate , Miller Tool, AVI Foods. Commercial Accounts maintenance can include daily inspections, preventative maintenance checks, new tire replacement, all repairs, monthly invoices, DOT annual inspection etc.
The building was purchased in 2004 under a second company that Luke is also the owner of called Z&C properties. Among the holdings under Z&C are L&A Automotive (Current location of L&A Automotive corner of Pearl and Cooper), the Page and Elm building currently rented by Eddy’s Towing and Scrap on the corner of Page and Elm, and 165 Cooper St. currently rented by Complete Truck Repair.
Luke runs all day to day operations of the company. Eventually Luke would like to change the name to Jackson Automotive Repair to show his commitment to being local as well as gaining name recognition/optimization. Our most effective form of advertising is referrals and everyone knows and respects the honesty and integrity of Luke.
